Hells Kitchen

This is a reworked postcard from the earlier postcard project we were set. It works along Lake Disappointment and is designed for Hells Kitchen. The writing translate from spanish to literally say "dying of hunger". The idea follows on from research I did into the Mexican celebration Day of the Dead. I used a stencil and flourescent spray paint to create the image.

expired film

A few photos taken using a 35mm back on my Diana F+, with expired film. This was a complete experiment, but I really like the grainy effect of the expired film. Grain is good!

Crack

I love crack....as in the website.
It is a free magazine full of info about what's on in Bristol and I have just found this lovely picture and interview with Dave Bain.

Maarten Donders

Just found these drawings I quite like. I really must draw more!

Peepshow

Todays guest lecturer was Jenny Bowers, a member of the Peepshow collective. I would love to work as part of an illustration collective in the future. The work she showed was really inspiring, I especially liked the window installation they all created for the Satchii Gallery.

Last Night's Scribbles

Pig Love Apple

These are some shots of the characters we have made for our animation project.

Up up and away....

Today we started work on a new brief, a film project about Bath. We have decided to make an abstract film about hot air ballooning. This are a few of the photos I took of the balloon setting up just before I got in the basket.

Lake Disappointment

This is a screenprinted postcard designed for Lake Disappointment. I printed the design in glue onto black card then used a heat press to stick silver foil sheets to the card, both the front and back are done in this way.
The fish started life as a crudely cut out fishbone shape from white card, this is my third and final design although if I'm honest I think the lettering could do with some more work. Pretty fun process to work with though.
